Rockets News · New Stadium Rules For Varsity Football Games

Fans entering the stadium for varsity football games at John Glenn will have some new rules to be aware of for 2014.  “After meeting with our building administrators, we have decided to make some small changes that will enhance the experience of our fans and provide additional safety for all those in attendance.” said Athletic Director John Young.  We want our home fans as well as our visitors to have a positive experience and we are working toward that goal each night. The changes we’ve made are to ensure that everyone has a good time.”

Changes include separate home and visitors ticket gates for all home varsity games.  John Glenn fans will continue to enter through the main entrance near the student parking lot while visiting fans will have a separate entrance on the visitors side.  Visitors will be able to enter the stadium through the gate on the Northeast corner of the stadium near the East parking lot.

Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks into the stadium.  Backpacks should be left in the car or at home.

All high school students must have a school ID or they will not be admitted to the stadium.  John Glenn students will be allowed to attend home athletic events free of charge with their student ID card. Only John Glenn students will be allowed to enter trough the John Glenn entrance.  All other high school students will be expected to enter through the visitors gate and remain on the visitors side for the entire game.

A new fence has been installed, dividing the home and visitors sides.  Fans will not be able to cross sides at a varsity football game. There will be concessions and portjohns available on the visitors side of the stadium for each game.

No one will be allowed past the South end of the stands on the home side. The sidewalk will be blocked off and no one will be permitted to stand near the pole vault pits.

No one will be permitted to stand at the fence in front of the stands.  This is for the convenience of our fans sitting in the first few rows as they cannot see when people stand at the fence.  You will be asked to return to your seat if you stand at the fence.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Only players, coaches, cheerleaders, media, and school staff will be permitted on the field without a field pass.  All field passes must be obtained from the athletic director’s office. No other parents, fans, or students will be allowed on the field.
